National Skill Training Institute (Women), Jammu is established by Directorate General of Training under Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India. This an exclusive institute for women candidates facilitates long term courses for Women candidates in Computer Software Applications (CITS) and Office Management (CITS). Admission to CITS course is through All India Entrance Examination and admission to CTS course is based on marks obtained in the qualifying examination. This Institute having MoU under On the Job Training (OJT) with NHPC, Jammu for 2 Office Management Trainees and another MoU with Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA)- Jammu for 03 trainees currently and all 25 trainees will do in coming session also.

Programme structure : The duration of crafts instructor training is one year.
Combination of Subjects : The following subjects are covered
- Trade Technology (Comprising of Basic & Advanced components of trade practice and theory)
- Training Methodology (Comprising of Teaching Practice and Principles of Teaching)
Start of session : 1st August of every year.
SELECTION : Admission is done through All India Common Entrance Test which is conducted centrally by DGT HQ. Entrance Examination Fees – Rs. 300/- for General Category and Rs. 100/- for SC /ST candidates
Eligibility for Admission : NCVT certificate in the relevant trade or Diploma/Degree from a recognized Board of Technical Education/University or Equivalent.
Age limit : Minimum not specified, No upper age limit
Admission & Award of Certificate : Candidates can enrol for the above programmes for one year. A candidate has to secure 40 % in Trade Theory, 40% in POT, 40% in VCS and 60% in Trade Practical marks in and also have a minimum of 80 % attendance to appear the final examination. The final examination conducted by NCVT, New Delhi in June/July every year. On passing the prescribed exam, trainees will be awarded the Instructor training Certificate from NCVT.

Working Hours : From 09.00 am to 5.30 pm with half hour lunch break on all working days(Monday to Friday).
Attendance : Minimum 80% attendance is required to appear in the Final Trade Test to be held at the end of the course.
