National Skill Training Institute (Women), Jammu (UT of J&K) has affiliated to NCVT by its meeting on October 2020 and commences classes on January 2021. National Skill Training Institute (Women), Jammu is established by the Directorate General of Training under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India. This exclusive institute for women candidates facilitates long-term courses for Women candidates in Computer Software Applications (CITS) and Office Management (CITS). Admission to the CITS course is through the All India Entrance Examination and admission to the CITS course is based on marks obtained in the qualifying examination. National Skill Training Institute has two extension centers one at Srinagar (UT of J&K) and the other at Leh (UT of Ladakh). Both the extension centers commence their operation in the academic year (2021-22) onwards. NSTI Extn. Centre, Srinagar facilitates long-term courses in Office Management (CITS) and Smart Healthcare (CTS). NSTI Extn. Centre, Leh facilitates long-term courses in New Age Course-Solar Technician (CTS).
The institute is also the Extension Center for IGNOU, NIOS, PMKVY/SHI. Conducting short-term courses under various SSCs. NSTI W Jammu Started CARPENTER trade under PM Vishwakarma Scheme. The 'Skill Hubs Initiative' under PMKVY 4.0 aims at creating shared infrastructure, aligned with the needs of the local economy which addresses the vocational training needs of all target segments. Now a Girl's Hostel has also started functioning from Academic Year 2022-23 with NSTI, Jammu, and Srinagar.
